E RICK RINALDI
“Where Rivers Run”
COMPOSER – MUSICIAN – RECORDING ARTIST

E Rick Rinaldi has made a career of putting himself out there emotionally for the world to see. Fans are drawn by his uncanny ability to bring a tidal surge of passion into every note he composes, and every lyric he writes. He is a master at capturing the imagination with music composition born of the soul; he blends and weaves instruments together in a manner unlike all others before him. His music is captivating, rhythmic, clean, and moving.  Every piece he composes is deeply rooted, and passionately performed.

From his childhood home in South Philadelphia, Rick would watch while his sisters took piano lessons, and then he would practice while no one was around, often thinking that his fingers were more suited to that of a brick layer.  But at a young age he sensed he could write a compelling melody, and maintained a piano practice schedule for years, and later mastered the guitar using that same sort of practice discipline. When Rick felt he was finally coming into his own as a musician and songwriter, a turn of events sent him on another course and he temporarily had to set aside his life as a musician, but continued to compose.

December 2006, Rick’s CD, “This Time” was released. It is a collection of sultry and romantic original compositions, performed solely by this unique entertainer playing nine keyboards.  E Rick Rinaldi gained industry recognition as follows:
*2007 Indie Compilation for Life Contemporary Music Award Winner -“Willow Fields”
*2007 All States All Stars Compilation CD Music Award Winner -“Saving Baghdad”
*2007 Featured Artist in the “Music For Troops” effort for “Saving Baghdad”
*2007 Rick’s Myspace page (www.myspace.com/erickrinaldi) was viewed more than 1,000,000 times and his song’s played more than 2,000,000 times by those viewers, many who have become devoted fans.

November 2007, Anabelle Records released Rick’s Limited Edition Christmas CD, “An Angel of My Own” with guest vocalist Renee Parisi. Blending a captivating tune with catchy lyrics had kids of all ages singing along across the nation. Portions of the net proceeds of this CD benefit the Angel Foundation (www.angelfoundationnpc.com.)
The “Where Rivers Run” CD and concert will feature a vocal version of  “Saving Baghdad”, honoring the men and women who continue to fight for our freedom and safety, including Rick’s own son who has been deployed to the Middle East six times since September 11, 2001.

RANDY BOCELLE
SINGER – LEAD GUITAR

Randy Bocelle was born into a musical family and uses the inspiration of his father and brother to guide him at every performance. There was always music playing in the Bocelle household, a tradition Randy holds strong to this day.

Randy’s father was a well-respected pianist in the late 1970s, however he took to the guitar at the age of eight, along with his brother Zack. The Bocelle brothers put together a band called the Redcoats whose song “The Dum Dum Song” immediately, thanks to a DJ at WOND in Atlantic City, became a hit. The group was later signed by RCA and changed their name to the “Sidekicks.” Randy, his brother and the additional two band mates went on tour, getting a real feel for stardom.

After the tour ended, the group disbanded in 1966 with each performer going their own separate route. Randy reenrolled in school enjoying life as the child he still was, but never pushing his passion for music aside.

Randy has played guitar in bands through the years. When Randy isn’t performing with the “Where Rivers Run” tour, he can be found playing and singing around the Atlantic City area with his wife Vicki as part of the Sweetwater group.

“Randy is a player,” says E Rick Rinaldi. “The man plays the damned tears out of a guitar like no one I’ve heard before.”

DEREK SMITH
DRUMMER / PERCUSSIONIST

Derek Smith is a fun loving, easy-going, quiet, smiling musician that cherishes each opportunity that new music brings.  Embracing a variety of music, from R&B, jazz, gospel, contemporary and progressive, he comes alive behind his drum set.

Derek found his passion for the drums before he began to walk by banging on pots and pans in his mother’s kitchen. At only five years of age, Derek first performed  “on stage” in church by “filling in” on drums for his uncle who had momentarily stepped away.

Recognizing Derek’s talent and passion for music, his father enrolled him at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia at the age of ten, where he was formally trained to read music and sediments. During his years of schooling, Derek played in marching, concert and jazz bands as well as the local gospel choir. Today, Derek is known as an accomplished musician in the Philadelphia music circuit.

In Derek, E Rick Rinaldi found a professional who could understand and enhance the music nuances of “Where Rivers Run”.  According to Rick, “Derek is a rare find and a very special performer.”

CAROL RUFFU
TOUR DIRECTOR

Carol Ruffu is an Atlantic City native with years of experience in sales, casino management and public relations. Her friendly personality, work-ethic, passion and drive make her an essential part of the “Where Rivers Run” concert tour.

Carol has an extensive history working with entertainment and the music industry. As Fundraising Chairperson for the South Jersey AIDS Alliance for more than a decade, Carol was instrumental in organizing entertainment events from musical production fashion shows at the Palace Theatre in the Claridge Casino Hotel to “Broadway on the Boardwalk” in Casino Showrooms such as Caesars Casino Hotel, Resorts International, and the Tropicana Resort.  “Broadway on the Boardwalk” actors and actresses, many of who were then playing on Broadway, gave up one off day to volunteer to put on the “show of shows” in Atlantic City.

After “Broadway on the Boardwalk” completed a successful five year run, Carol replaced that very profitable fundraising event with Melissa Manchester in concert in 2001 and Jennifer Holiday in concert in 2002 at the Tropicana Casino Resort.  Carol also helped coordinate another very popular yearly event that was held on The Deck at Studio 6, The Miss’d America Pageant.

It is quite a challenge to organize a yearly event but Carol managed to organize several events year after year. Carol ran Red Ribbon Bingo every month in the Copa Room at the Sands Casino Hotel with her Bingo Diva’s, all former or aspiring Miss’d Americas who performed brand new acts between Bingo Games every month.  For this Carol was recognized by the South Jersey AIDS Alliance by being presented with the Hero’s Award at the last Miss’d America Pageant held in 2003.

Carol resides in Atlantic City and has brought her years of experience to Anabelle records as Manager for E Rick Rinaldi and Tour Manager for “Where Rivers Run.”

  LEE DARBY
ART DIRECTOR

Lee began her fascination with the arts in her early teens.  Using this as a means of expression, she found it fed her creative instincts and enjoyed the fact that others found her work to be different, yet pleasing.  Lee attended Atlantic Community College and Stockton State College taking all of the photography and art classes that were offered. She built a darkroom in her parent’s basement in order to develop her own pictures thus enabling her to create her unique style.  Hungry for more education she relocated to Florida and enrolled in the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

As a young entrepreneur, Lee started a free-lance photography business while still attending classes at the Art Institute.  She was hired as the still/publicity photographer for the movie, The Great Balloon Race and some of her work made it to the Caan Film Festival in France. During the same time she sold her action packed photos to a media company who had slide shows in clubs up and down the east coast.  Lee also created portfolios for aspiring models, actors and actresses, as well as print work for newspaper and magazine advertising.

Changes in technology brought challenges as well as opportunity for Lee to demonstrate yet another dimension to her creative artwork. Currently Lee is the keystone photographer for Anabelle Records, and designs CD’s, T-shirts, posters and other print work.
